Swedish style log cabin

Combines the rustic beauty of handcrafted logs with the intricate character of the saddlenotch corner.  Each log corner is notched to nestle into the adjoining corner providing a solid row of logs from both angles.

This is the most popular profile. The majority of customers prefer the more rustic characteristics found in the cabin appearance over those found in the standard appearance. These logs are intentionally milled to leave some bark on the surface. The bark is then draw knifed off, giving the log a more rustic appearance. These logs are grade stamped. Sizes available: 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 15, and 16-inch diameters.

Log descriptive design

This standard appearance is milled to a uniform profile.  This style of log is ideal for those who desire a true log home, with the rustic features of the cabin appearance.  This style utilizes the dovetail notch corner system.  These logs are grade stamped.  Sizes available: 7,8,9,10,12,and 14-inch diameters.

The word “dovetail” refers to a specific method of joining logs or timbers at wall corner intersections.

Dovetail style joinery has a long history and can be seen in historical homes wherever wood has been used as a building material.  Dovetail wood joinery is also well known in furniture and cabinet making.  This type of corner detail is appealing because of its angular look and its obvious strength and functionality.  The dovetail is a timeless notch that requires little space and makes efficient use of material.  The dovetail corner notch shows the skill of the craftsman that made it and it never ceased to impress.
